Last season, Bickley led the Tigers to their best finish in school history at the NCAA Division II West Regional/RMAC Championships with a second place finish in Golden, Colorado. Seven Tigers qualified for the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships and all ten members of the team finished in the top five (first time in FHSU history all 10 placed at the regional). Three of the seven national qualifiers went on to garner All-American honors. The Tigers finished last season with a #10 national ranking and 7-6 record for the dual season. The team finished 14th at the national tournament.

During the 2005-06 season, Bickley coached eight Tigers that qualified for the NCAA National Tournament. The team finished 11th at the national tournament. He led the Tigers to a 9-3-1 record (the best dual percentage yet under Bickley), going 5-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for a second place finish in the regular season. It was FHSU’s best finish in the RMAC since joining the NCAA. In the 2005-06 RMAC Tournament, six Tigers wrestled for an RMAC individual championship, with three coming out victorious. The Tigers were ranked 8th in the nation after completion of the dual season.

Bickley has coached eight RMAC champions over the past five years. In 2003-04, the Tigers went 10-4 in dual matches which is the highest dual win total for FHSU under Bickley. That same season, the Tigers had their highest national finish under Bickley, placing 10th at the national championships.

The 2000-01 squad won the NCAA Division II Academic National Championship with a 3.417 grade point average, the second-highest ever recorded.

Under Bickley’s leadership, the Tigers have qualified 35 individuals to the national tournament over the past seven seasons. The Tigers have qualified no less than three individuals each season since Bickley became head coach. Bickley has coached 12 NCAA Division II All-Americans at Fort Hays State, including two NCAA national runner-up finishers. Bickley has also had the honor of coaching 30 NWCA Division II All-Academic team members at FHSU.

The former Tiger wrestling standout was named head coach July 31, 2000, after serving as an assistant coach for the Tigers from 1998-2000 and as student assistant during the 1997-98 season. During that time, FHSU finished 12th, 11th and 9th at the NCAA II Championships. Bickley was also selected as the university director for the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association.

A native of Otis, Colo., Bickley wrestled for the Tiger program from 1993-97. He served as a team captain his sophomore, junior and senior seasons with the Tigers. Bickley was a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion at 118 pounds in 1997 and earned runner-up honors in 1996. He helped lead FHSU to a second-place finish at the RMAC Championships and a tenth-place finish at the NCAA II Championships in 1997. He also received the FHSU Student-Athlete Award all four years during his collegiate competition. As a prep athlete, Bickley compiled a 100-6 record with state finishes of third, first, second and third in the Colorado State Wrestling Tournament. In 1990, he was a Cadet National All-American in Greco-Roman wrestling.

Bickley earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology from FHSU in 1997 and a master's degree in Sports Administration from FHSU in 2000. He resides in Hays with his wife Lynette.

Jobe is a native of Kansas City, Kan. He was a four-year letterwinner and two-time state placer at Kansas City-Piper High School. Jobe is currently a graduate assistant in the Health and Human Performance department at FHSU. He is working on a master’s degree in Sports Administration after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management. Jobe also served as head coach of the wrestling program at WaKeeney Junior High School during the 2005-06 season.

Jobe is also in his first year working in compliance and student athlete services at Fort Hays State.

Howell competed in wrestling at Fort Hays State from 2003-2007. In his four years with the program, Howell compiled an overall record of 65-32. Howell was a three-time national qualifier for the Tigers. He was the NCAA II West Regional/RMAC Championships champion at 184 pounds as a sophomore.

Prior to coming to Fort Hays State University, Howell competed one season in baseball for Coffeyville Community College.

Howell, a native of Nickerson, Kan., was an all-state performer in wrestling and baseball at Nickerson High School.

Patterson was a wrestler for the Tigers from 2004-2007. Patterson earned All-American honors at 133 pounds in 2006-07, finishing eighth at the national championships. Patterson won 24 matches in his three-year career at FHSU.

Before his stint at Fort Hays State, Patterson wrestled at Labette Community College for two years where he earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors twice.

Patterson is a native of Wichita, Kan. He was a state runner-up as a senior at Wichita Northwest High School and was captain of the team for three years.
