The Fort Hays State women's cross country team was host to the 2010 Tiger Cross Country Open on Saturday morning (Oct. 16) at the FHSU cross country course. Fort Hays State placed fourth out of 11 teams.

The five women who made up the team scoring for FHSU all finished within a minute of each other. Hali Mobley was the first finisher in 19th place with a time of 18:20. Amie Algrim was close behind, finishing 22nd in a time of 18:33. Heidi Hines finished 25th, Raven Boettger was 30th and Gentry Linscott was 36th.  

The 5k race was won by Lauren Kleppin of Western State in a time of 16:59. The first five scoring runners and five of the top six overall were from Western State who had a perfect team score of 15 to win the meet. Fort Hays State was fourth with a score of 110.

The Tigers how have a break to begin preparation for the MIAA Championships, which will be held in Hays on November 6th.
