Several newcomers to the FHSU women's cross country team competed at the Colby Community College Invitational on Friday (Sept. 10). Fort Hays State topped a field of four teams to win the event with a team score of 21.
Kylie Gaughan led the Tigers, finishing third overall on the four-kilometer course in a time of 16:28. Carman Hill finished fourth in a time of 16:47. Raven Boettger was fifth in a time of 16:50. Marie Schaller gave FHSU four runners in the top 10, finishing seventh in 17:02. Melissa Bartlett was the last to figure into the team scoring in 17:09.
Sam Sczcublewski was the top FHSU runner competing unattached, finishing 11th in 17:09.
