Crossman and Murdock Named Don Hansen All-Americans

Fort Hays State seniors Jacob Crossman and O.J. Murdock were named to the Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-American team for 2010. Crossman, a native of Haysville, Kan., earned a second-team selection on defense, while Murdock, a native of Tampa, Fla., earned third-team honors on offense.

Crossman tied for the conference lead in sacks (9) and was second in the conference in tackles for loss (19) in the regular season. He finished his career at FHSU with 35 tackles for loss, which ties for fourth-most in FHSU history, and 14.5 sacks, which ranks ninth in school history. He tied the single-season record in tackles for loss at FHSU this year, matching the 19 of Jason Hill in 2007. Crossman finished with 123 tackles in his career. Previous to this honor, Crossman earned All-MIAA First Team, Daktronics All-Super Region 4 First Team, and Don Hansen All-Super Region 4 First Team honors for the 2010 season.

Murdock will go down as one of the most prolific offensive players to put on the black and gold at FHSU. The Tampa, Fla., native was a two-time All-MIAA Second Team selection at wide receiver and earned Don Hansen All-Super Region 4 Second Team honors prior to this honor. He broke the FHSU single-season records for receiving yards (1,290) and yards per catch (21.5) in 2010. His 12 touchdowns and 117.3 receiving yards per game were second most for a single season at FHSU. He had a total of 20 receiving touchdowns in his two years at FHSU. He was a tremendous deep-ball threat for the Tigers with seven of his career touchdowns being 50 yards or longer and 12 of them being 30 yards or longer. He had seven 100+ yard receiving games at FHSU, which included a career-high 208 yard performance against Nebraska-Omaha in 2010. For his career, Murdock accumulated 1,987 receiving yards on 95 catches. Murdock has participated in the Cactus Bowl (NCAA Division II All-Star Game) and East-West Shrine Game in January and has been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine at the end of February.

Crossman and Murdock are the second and third Don Hansen All-American Team selections for Fort Hays State since joining the MIAA in 2006. Defensive back C.J. Lovett, now a player with the Wichita Wild of arena football, was an honorable mention selection in 2008.
