The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its Academic Top 25 for the 2011-12 season. Fort Hays State ranks fourth in the nation in NCAA Division II, putting together a 3.628 GPA as a team this past academic year. The mark is based on the cumulative GPAs of all team members.
The Lady Tigers were not too far behind the nation's top team, Drury University (Mo.), which had a GPA of 3.709. King College (Tenn.) was second at 3.692 and Lake Erie (Ohio) was third at 3.684.
Junior
Traci Keyser of Cambridge, Neb., led the way on the team with her perfect 4.0 GPA as she also earned CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American honors in 2011-12.
Fort Hays State was the only member of the MIAA in 2011-12 to rank in the Top 25. Lindenwood, a new member to the conference in 2012-13, was seventh on the list.
