Fort Hays State Volleyball welcomes Emporia State to Gross Memorial Coliseum on Tuesday (Oct. 14) evening for a 6 p.m., conference matchup.
The Tigers (7-11, 2-8 MIAA) will look to snap five-game losing streak, while ESU (7-8, 3-7 MIAA) sits just one spot ahead of FHSU in the conference standings.
Mallory Flagor continues to lead the Tigers in kills (238), and is just five short of her 2013 total with 12 games remaining this season. At her current pace of 3.5 kills per set, Flagor is set to surpass the 350 kills mark by the end of the season.
Keanu Bradley ranks second in the MIAA with 343 digs on the season and is averaging 5.12 digs per set, which would place her fourth on the Tigers' single-season digs average record list for the rally-scoring era. Bradley has eight 20-plus dig performances on the year, and is on pace for over 500 digs on the year.
Middle hitters
Rebekah Spainhour and
Callie Christensen have found themselves sharing a rotation for the previous nine games, as Spainhour leads the position group with 148 kills, and the team with 45 blocks. Christensen has 58 kills in 44 sets played, and is second on the team with 35 blocks (five solo).
Setter
Libby Ary has a team-high 386 assists on the year, sharing time with
Kristin Conor (307 assists). Ary's 5.76 assists per set average is just down from last year's mark (5.79 assists per set). Conor is averaging 4.87 assists per set.
The Hornets are led offensively by Carly Spicer, who has 231 kills (3.72 per set) and Josie Williams, with 161 kills (2.68 per set). Kimberley Bell has 364 assists on the season, while Kelly Holden's 273 digs is a team-high. At the net, Courtney Haring had 59 blocks (18 solo).
