The Fort Hays State men’s basketball team had three of its players selected to the All-MIAA teams for the 2008-09 season. Those players include Terry Jeffries, who earned second team honors, and Tyrone Evans and Tim Peintner, who each earned honorable mention selections.

Jeffries, a 6-foot, senior guard from Aurora, Ill., is averaging 11.4 points per game and ranks second in the MIAA in assists per game (4.9). He scored in double figures 18 times this season for the Tigers. Jeffries leads the Tigers in steals with 42.

Evans, a 6-foot, 1-inch, senior guard from Aurora, Ill., is now a two-time All-MIAA selection. He was a second-team selection last season. Evans continues to lead the MIAA in 3-point field goals per game with 83, averaging 3.1 per game. Like Jeffries, Evans has scored in double figures 18 times this season. He leads the team in scoring at 13.0 points per game.

Peintner, a 6-foot, 6-inch, junior forward from Scott City, Kan., is averaging 12.2 points per game and a team-best 7.2 rebounds per game. Peintner has been a very balanced player for the Tigers, shooting 50 percent from the field and over 80 percent from the free-throw line. He leads the team in blocked shots with 16 and has a team-high five double-doubles this year.
