Fort Hays State University head wrestling coach Cody Bickley announced the signing of Brent Fisher from Goddard High School in Goddard, Kan., for the 2008-09 season. Fisher is the younger brother of current Tiger wrestler Blake Fisher.

Fisher has a record of 82-13 going into his senior year this winter. He is a three-time state placer. He finished second in the state last year as a junior at 140 pounds. He finished third in the state as a sophomore and sixth in the state as a freshman. Fisher is currently ranked #18 in the nation by WIN Magazine’s Top 20 High School Wrestlers at 145 pounds.

“We are very excited to have Brent join our squad,” said Bickley. “He will look to make an immediate impact at 149 pounds next year. He is well coached and looks forward to joining his older brother Blake. In addition, he carries a 3.4 grade point average in high school.”
