Fort Hays State University head volleyball coach Steve Smith announced today the signing of six individuals for the 2008 volleyball season. The Fort Hays State volleyball squad had eight members of its 2007 team named to the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. Fort Hays State volleyball middle hitter Sarah Schinstock was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Volleyball Team. She was the lone representative for the Lady Tigers. The Fort Hays State volleyball squad hosted #18 ranked Pittsburg State in its final regular season game of 2007 Saturday evening in Hays at Gross Coliseum. After falling down 2-0 in the match, FHSU forced five games in the match in a remarkable comeback effort. Unfortunately, the comeback came up just short as the Lady Tigers were needing a win to make the MIAA Tournament. A 3-2 win for Pittsburg State brought the Lady Tigers’ season to a close.
