Bickley Announces Signing of Tommy Edgmon For 2008-09 Season

Fort Hays State University head wrestling coach Cody Bickley announced today the signing of Tommy Edgmon for the 2008-09 season. Edgmon, a native of Goddard, Kan., will wrestle at 125 pounds and comes to the program from Pratt Community College. While at Pratt CC, he was a two-time NJCAA Qualifier and was ranked as high as #4 in the country his sophomore season. In high school, he was a three-time state champion and finished his career with an overall record of 122-16. His senior season, he was named the Class 6A Wrestler of the Year. He was also a Brute Adidas Nationals Champion.
Tiger Wrestling Holds Post-Season Banquet

The Fort Hays State wrestling program held its post-season banquet last Friday night inside the new Robbins Alumni Center. The event was co-sponsored by the Tiger Takedown Club and Whiskey Creek, who prepared the meal. Upon completion of the meal, head coach Cody Bickley announced several awards and a season-recap video was shown.
Six Wrestlers Named To Academic All-RMAC Teams

For the first time ever, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference recognized first, second team and honor roll all-academic performers in the sport of wrestling. Fort Hays State had six wrestlers earn Academic All-RMAC honors. Those individuals included Danny Grater, Shawn Kuhlman, Blake Malloy, Kyle Patton, Dylan Loyd, and Josh Peterson. Read more...
Wrestling Banquet To Be Held April 18th

The Fort Hays State wrestling team will be holding their annual post-season banquet on Friday, April 18th, at 6:00 p.m. in the new Robbins Center adjacent to Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., for socializing prior to the banquet. The banquet will feature awards, dinner and a highlight video. Eight Individuals Represent Fort Hays State On NWCA All-Academic Wrestling Team

The National Wrestling Coaches Association released its Division II All-Academic Wrestling Team for the 2007-08 season. Eight individuals from Fort Hays State received the honors out of 133 student athletes selected from 35 universities and colleges. Fort Hays State ranked third in team GPA (3.243), behind Truman State (3.394) and Nebraska-Kearney (3.334). Truman State has now won the Academic National Championship as a team the past two years. Annon Earns All-American Honors

Fort Hays State University had four wrestlers compete at the NCAA Division II Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa this past weekend (March 14-15). The four competing were James Annon at 141 pounds, Danny Grater at 157 pounds, Blake Malloy at 174 pounds, and Tyler Gonzales at 197 pounds. The Fort Hays State wrestling team was in action on Saturday (March 1) at the NCAA Division II West Regional/RMAC Championships in Las Vegas, N.M. The Fort Hays State wrestling squad hosted #4 ranked Nebraska-Kearney in its final dual of the 2007-08 season. The Fort Hays State wrestling team was in action on Saturday evening and hosted Grand Canyon University. On a night in which head coach Cody Bickley was honored for becoming the new all-time duals winner in FHSU wrestling history, the Tigers would win all 10 matches and shut out the Antelopes by a final score of 51-0. The Fort Hays State wrestling squad hosted Western State College on Friday evening (February 8) at Gross Memorial Coliseum. Western State entered the dual as the #5 ranked team in the nation. In honor of FHSU head wrestling coach becoming the all-time winningest coach in the program's history, the Fort Hays State Athletic Department is offering free admission to all Tiger fans for next Saturday’s dual against Grand Canyon University. Dual time on February 9 is set for 7:00 p.m. from Gross Memorial Coliseum. Upon completion of the dual, the Fort Hays State Athletic Department will also be hosting a post-dual reception in honor of Bickley, which will be open to the public. The Fort Hays State wrestling squad wrestled in its first road dual of the season Thursday evening (January 10) at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo. Adams State entered the dual with a #5 national ranking, while Fort Hays entered at #20 in the nation. Adams State proved its ranking with a 32-9 win over the Tigers. The #18-ranked Fort Hays State wrestling team competed in the Northern
Colorado Open this past Sunday in Greeley, Colorado. The Tigers had five
individuals place in the tournament including Danny Grater, who was the 157 pound
individual champion. Others who placed in the tournament were James Annon, who
finished second at 141 pounds, Blake Malloy, who finished second at 174 pounds,
Josh Pfannenstiel, who finished third at 149 pounds and Dustin Martin, who finished
fourth at 285 pounds.

The Fort Hays State University wrestling team opened its dual season in Tecumseh, Kan., Friday (November 9) evening at Shawnee Heights High School. Stanford University, NCAA Division I and Pac-10 Conference member, defeated the Tigers 26-9. The Tigers were victorious in three matches, while the Cardinal won seven. The Fort Hays State wrestling squad kicked off its season with the annual FHSU Black & Gold Scrimmage at Gross Coliseum Thursday evening (December 1). Nine Tigers competed for each team in the intrasquad scrimmage, with 165 pounds being the only match not wrestled with both teams open at the weight. Fort Hays State University head wrestling coach Cody Bickley announced today the team captains for the 2007-2008 wrestling season. The Tigers will have four team captains this season. The captains include Phil Hart, Tyler Gonzales, Danny Grater and Blake Malloy. All four wrestlers were fixtures in the Tiger wrestling lineup last season.
