Kate Lehman earned Athlete of the Week for her performance this week with the Fort Hays State women's basketball team. Lehman scored a career-high 28 points and 17 rebounds in a 67-58 win over Missouri Southern on Saturday (Feb. 18) in Joplin. The Tigers also defeated SBU, 78-71, on Thursday (Feb. 16) during the week.

The freshman center also totaled six blocks, giving her 87 on the season, which is already a school record. The double-double is her eighth on the season and ties her with teammate Kate Edwards for first on the team and second in the MIAA this season.
Lehman also totaled a double-double in the Tigers' 78-71 win over SBU. She finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the win, while also adding four blocks in 26 minutes.
The freshman center from Newton, Kan., is averaging 10.4 points per game and 7.5 rebounds this season, which both rank second for the Tigers. She is shooting 50 percent from the field, which ranks her first on the team. Her total of 87 blocks is already a single season record, and she averages 3.3 per game.
Fort Hays State was won four-straight games and are 19-7 on the season, including 11-7 in the MIAA, which ranks them fifth. The Tigers finish the regular season with two home games against Pittsburg State and Emporia State this Wednesday and Saturday.
