Heidi Hines earned Athlete of the Week honors for her performance at the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. The senior from O'Neill, Neb. set two new Fort Hays State records while also earning All-MIAA Honorable Mention in the 3,000 meter and 5,000 meter. The Lady Tigers as a team finished seventh at the MIAA Championships.

In the 3,000 meter, Hines broke her own school record set last season. At the championships, Hines ran a 10:24 to break her old record of 10:28. Her 5,000 meter time of 17:55 shattered the old record by 17 seconds (18:12), which was set by Ashlee Orr in 2008.

Hines was also All-MIAA Honorable Mention during the cross country season where she placed in the top 20. Hines also landed on the USTFCCCA All-Academic team during the cross country season.

The Lady Tigers placed seventh at the MIAA Championships, totaling 48.5 points
