Adam Ludwin has been named Athlete of the Week for his performance with the Fort Hays State wrestling team. The Tiger wrestlers started their season last week with the Black and Gold Scrimmage on Friday and then some wrestlers traveled to the Baker Open.
At the Baker Open, Ludwin was one of four champions for the Tigers. Ludwin, a sophomore from Yuma, Ariz., won the 125-pound class. The other FHSU champions were Derek Koehn (157), Sam Thoman (165) and Zack Grimes (184).
On Friday at the Black and Gold scrimmage, the two squads finished in a 24-24 tie. Ludwin won the final match of the night, a 3-1 decision over Garrett Jones to tie the score at 24-24.
The FHSU wrestling team is in action this weekend on Sunday (Nov. 11) at the Central Missouri Open in Warrensburg, Mo.
