Fort Hays State senior Ben Congiusta was named to the MIAA Men's Basketball All-Tournament Team for his efforts in Kansas City this past weekend. Congiusta averaged 19.0 points per game, shooting 61.9 percent from the field and 53.3 percent beyond the 3-point line in the two tournament games for the Tigers.
Against Missouri Southern in the quarterfinals, Congiusta went 6-of-9 from the field, 4-of-7 beyond the 3-point line, and 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Against Northwest Missouri State in the semifinals, he led the team with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, 4-of-8 beyond the 3-point line, and a 3-of-4 effort at the free-throw line. Congiusta was also an All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection for the season.
Congiusta finished the season shooting 44.6 percent beyond the 3-point line with 78 3-point field goals made. He finished his career with 153 3-point field goals, which ranks seventh all-time at FHSU. His 370 career attempts are eighth-most in school history. The .446 percentage beyond the 3-point line this year is ninth-best for a single season at FHSU.
