Hester had a monster opening weekend for the Tigers, scoring three goals in 126 minutes of action.  Hester had two goals in FHSU's 4-0 win over No. 23 Southwest Minnesota State, scoring the third and fourth goals of the evening and tying a school record for goals in a game (and goals in one half).  With FHSU ahead after the half (2-0), Hester entered the scoring column at 54:35 using a cross from Kylee Loneker.  Off Loneker's assist, Hester headed the ball past the keeper into the back of the net and put Fort Hays State ahead, 3-0.

Hester's second goal of the night came just past the 71-minute mark (71:07). Â Kelsey Steffens crossed a pass to the back post of the goal where Hester was waiting for FHSU's fourth and final goal of the night.
Against the University of Sioux Falls, Hester had game winner (and first) goal of the day. Â Hailey Davey's crosser tipped off the USF goalkeeper's hands towards Hester, who finished from 10 yards out.
