Cory Keehn broke the FHSU Indoor Track and Field record in the 3000-meter run at the Bill Easton Classic, hosted by the University of Kansas on Friday (Jan. 9). With a time of 8:21.35, he also gained a NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the event.

Keehn topped former teammate Alex Hendee's record of 8:24.12, set in 2013, by nearly three seconds. Keehn now owns both the 3,000 and 5,000 meter indoor records at FHSU, after setting the 5,000-meter record in 2014. Keehn finished second among 28 competitors in the race, topped only by Josh Munsch of the University of Kansas, who ran a time of 8:18.48.

Keehn currently sits third on the NCAA Division II qualifying list as his time was converted to 8:15.59 because of the track size at the University of Kansas.
