Fort Hays State pole vaulter Brady Tien improved his NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the Air Force Invitational over the weekend (Jan. 22-24), posting a new indoor career best with an effort of 16'6.75".

Tien finished eighth overall in the event. The effort moved him to fourth on the provisional qualifying list nationally in Division II. Last year, he finished sixth at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships to earn All-American honors.
