In her first collegiate meet, Alexcia Deutscher posted a strong provisional mark in the javelin with a throw of 145 feet, 1 inch on her sixth and final toss at the Emporia State Spring Invitational (March 17). The mark places the true freshman second on the NCAA DII national performance list so far among 20 athletes that have posted provisionals in the event. She won the event by three feet over Andrea Navarro of Wichita State.
