Sahlfeld, a senior from Beloit, Kan., broke the FHSU record for the indoor weight throw at the Kansas State Invitational on January 15. His mark of 61-feet, 4.75-inches broke the old mark of 59-feet, 11.75-inches set by Matt Kuhn in 1998. His effort was good enough to take first place in the event. Sahfeld also took first in the shot put with a distance of 54-feet, 2.75-inches.
