Trachsel had several key tackles in helping Fort Hays State move to 8-0 for the first time in school history with a 38-10 win at Missouri Western. He finished with seven tackles, a sack, a pass break-up, and a quarterback hurry in the winning effort, helping the Tiger defense post their third consecutive second-half shutout of an opponent. Two of his tackles in the first half came on third down, which included his sack, forcing the Griffons to punt. His pass break-up also came on a 3rd-and-4 situation in the second half, forcing the Griffons to punt again.
