Travis Budke went 3-0 on Sunday en route to winning the 165 pound championship at the second annual Kansas Cup. He held off a late flurry by Baker’s Jakob Price in the closing seconds of the championship bout at 165 pounds for the 5-3 win.

Budke is in his first season with the Tiger wrestling team and is currently ranked No. 7 in NCAA II. He improved to 27-10 on the year with his wins on Sunday. Budke holds wins over CSU-Pueblo’s No. 8 Justin Grant and No. 4 Derrick Adkins of Central Oklahoma. This is his second tournament win this year after he previously won the Daniel Cormier Open.
