Sam Capps helped the Tiger baseball team earn their first MIAA series win over Southwest Baptist over the weekend (Mar. 23-25). Capps earned a victory in the first contest after coming on in relief of fellow Tiger Ben Ramberg in the eighth inning of a 5-5 ball game. Capps pitched 3.1 innings, not allowing a run on four hits and recording a strikeout. Capps then earned his fourth save of the season in Sunday’s (Mar. 25) victory after coming on with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning once again. He retired five batters, while receiving some insurance runs from the squad in the top of the 11th with a pair of runs, making it a final of 8-3.
