Murdock was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against East Central this past week. The Tampa, Fla., native scored touchdowns three of the four times he caught the ball and tallied 175 yards receiving, averaging 43.8 yards per catch.
His third touchdown reception of the game allowed quarterback Mike Garrison to tie the FHSU single game record for touchdown passes (5). His first reception went for a 66-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He had a 16-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. He capped his huge night with an 80-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter.
Murdock produced the most receiving yards by a Tiger since Nov. 1, 2002, when Beau Rebel had 187 yards receiving. The three receiving touchdowns were the most in a game since Oct. 8, 1994, when Lance Schwindt had three. He came just one touchdown shy of tying the school record for receiving touchdowns in a game (4) held by Schwindt. Murdock is averaging 34.0 yards per reception this year.
