Max Alonso topped the field at the MIAA Championships in the shot put with a throw of 59-feet, 9-inches, about a half foot from his best effort this season. Alonso has an automatic qualifying mark in the event and he ranks fourth on the national performance list. He also finished fourth in the weight throw with a throw measuring 58-feet, 0.25-inches.
