Jenna Ulrich earned Athlete of the Week honors for her stellar play last week for the Fort Hays State volleyball team. The Tigers defeated Missouri Western 4-1 on Friday night to go 1-0 last week. After dropping the first set, the Tigers roared back winning three straight to take the win over the visiting Griffons.
The sophomore middle hitter had a dominating performance against Missouri Western, totalling 19 kills with just two errors on the night. The native of Luray, Kan, hit an incredible .531 hitting percentage in the match. Ulrich also had there blocks, including a critical block solo late in the fourth set.
The win gave the Tigers their second victory on MIAA play this season, upping their record to 13-9 and 2-6 in conference.
