Katelyn Edwards earned Athlete of the Week honors after helping the Fort Hays State women's basketball team to a 2-0 start over the weekend. Edwards nearly averages a double-double through the two games, averaging 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Edwards, a sophomore from Crete, Neb., finished with a double-double in the 67-56 win over No. 20 Tarleton State on Sunday. She finished with game highs in points and rebounds with 20 and 13 respectively.
In the season opener, Edwards finished with 10 points and six rebounds in a 70-60 FHSU win over St. Mary's. The Tigers were balanced in scoring with five players totaling double figures.
The 2-0 Tigers open their home season on Wednesday against Tabor College at 7 p.m., in their first of three-straight home games.
