Kimber Weiser earned Athlete of the Week honors after helping the Tiger women's basketball team to a 71-65 win over Lincoln on the road on Wednesday.
Weiser was one of three Tigers in double figures in the win, scoring 12 points in just 19 minutes off the bench. The senior from Grinnell, Kan. finished with a team-high three steals and totaled three steals for the second straight game. She added four rebounds and two assists in the road win. In the seven games, Weiser averages 7.3 points, ranking her fourth on the team, and 3.4 rebounds.
The Tigers are a perfect 7-0 on the season, matching the best start to a season in school history. The 71-65 win over Lincoln was the conference opener for the Tigers, and the victory handed the Blue Tigers their first loss of the season. FHSU hosts No. 16 Washburn on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
