The 20,000-square foot multifunctional Bickle-Schmidt Athletic Complex stands at the south end of Lewis Field Stadium on the campus of Fort Hays State University. The $11.5 million project began in 2024 and was completed in 2026. The facility, which features two floors, is a great resource for elevating training, performance, and recovery for all Fort Hays State University student-athletes.

The lower level of the building features a state-of-the art athletic training/sports medicine area, including hydrotherapy pools, advanced recovery and treatment areas, and equipment designed to promote faster healing and rehabilitation. It also features a new locker room for the Tiger football team suited for 130 student-athletes.

The upper level of the building provides meeting rooms, a dedicated student-athlete lounge, recovery stations, and an entertaining kitchen-like space for all athletic programs to utilize, helping cultivate connection through team-building experiences. Another prime feature is an impressive 130-seat, theater-style film room, which can be utilized by all teams, thoughtfully designed to also provide premier sight lines of Lewis Field Stadium and the south end of the Fort Hays State University campus when retracting the light-canceling shades at the front of the room. The upper level also houses several offices of coaches.
