No. 18 Tigers Host Sterling in Weekend Hoops Action

Game Notes I Watch Live I Listen Live I Live Stats

The No. 18 ranked FHSU men host Sterling College on Saturday, November 27 at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. Game time is set for 4 pm. The Tigers enter their final non-conference game of the season with a record of 5-0.

Fort Hays State looks to stay unbeaten and possibly continue to ascend in the NCAA Division II national rankings with a win Saturday. Sterling gave the Tigers a scare two years ago in regular season play, as the Tigers escaped with just a two-point victory. The Tigers are coming off an 84-71 win at Newman on Tuesday and now are 3-0 away from Gross Memorial Coliseum this year.

Sterling enters with a record of 2-5. This game does not count towards Sterling's record as it can claim this as an exhibition contest, even though it counts for the Tigers. Sterling played under the same scenario earlier this week at future MIAA member Northeastern State (Okla.), falling by 13 points.

Five Tiger players enter Saturday's action averaging 10 points per game or better. Dominique Jones leads the team, averaging 21.4 per game. Corbin Kuntzsch and Ken Bowman each average 11.8, Dijon Smith 11.0, and Karron McKenzie 10.2.

The Tigers start conference play next week on Wednesday, December 1 when they host Lincoln University (Mo.), new member to the MIAA this year.
