The Fort Hays State men's soccer team scored two goals less than seven minutes apart to lift the Tigers to a 3-2 win over visiting Truman on Friday (Oct. 21) night at the FHSU Soccer Stadium. Diego Cabral and Ricardo Yeverino powered the offensive attack, combining for two goals and three assists.
 
The win improved the Tigers' record to 9-2-2 and ran FHSU's unbeaten streak to 10 games, which dates back to Sept. 9.
 
Yeverino scored the game's first goal at 36:34 on a pass from Cabral, giving the Tigers the early 1-0 advantage. The goal was No. 12 for Yeverino, a team-high.  The two teams went into halftime with the 1-0 score.
 
The second half provided much more scoring, as the teams combined for four goals. The visiting Bulldogs got on the board early in the second half, scoring four minutes in to tie the game at 1-1. Dylan Carter tapped in a cross to tie the score.
 
The Tigers regained the lead less than three minutes later, scoring on an Adrian Ramirez strike from the center of the box at 51:36. Yeverino picked up the assist on the goal.
 
The duo of Yeverino and Cabral reversed roles in the Tigers' third goal and game winner. Cabral tallied the Tiger goal on a shot from the left side of the box with Yeverino setting him up with the pass at 57:55, giving FHSU a 3-1 advantage.
 
After falling behind 3-1, the Bulldogs tried to fight back and scored at 66:35 to cut the lead to 3-2. Jonathan Brown scored off a free kick for the Bulldogs.
 
Yeverino finished the game with four points on his goal and two assists. The two assists is a season-high for Yeverino, who came into tonight's game with one assist on the season.
 
The Tigers play their last game of the three-game homestand on Sunday (Oct. 23) against West Texas A&M at 1 p.m. at the FHSU Soccer Stadium.
