The FHSU men's basketball team returns to action at home for the second straight day to close out the non-conference part of their schedule with Baker University on Sunday (Nov. 27). The Tigers enter the game at 5-0 overall, while Baker is 7-2. Tip off is set for 3 pm.
The Tigers are coming off an 81-66 win over Sterling College on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers shot a scorching 59.6 percent from the field in the win, led by a career-high 22 points from
Karron McKenzie. He leads the team in scoring at 14.6 points per game, followed closely by
Tyrone Phillips at 14.2 per game.
The last meeting between Fort Hays State and Baker occurred in 2006-07 with FHSU winning 90-66. The Tigers have won the last four meetings in the series history and seven of the last eight.
Following the game on Sunday with Baker, the Tigers open MIAA play on Wednesday (Nov. 30) at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo. They will then rest an entire week before hosting Washburn for their first MIAA home game on Wednesday, December 7.
