Tigers Look to Extend Streak at Home on Friday

Live Stats

After playing three of their last four games on the road, the Tiger men's soccer squad returns to the FHSU Soccer Stadium on Friday for an 8 p.m. match with Colorado College. FHSU looks to extend their current three-game winning streak on the season.

The Tigers are currently 4-2 on the season, their first in school history, and have won three straight with wins over Newman (3-1), Doane College (4-2) and West Texas A&M (3-1) during that stretch.

Junior Ricardo Yeverino has been a key factor in each win, scoring two goals in each game, upping his season total to seven goals, which ranks him fifth in the nation in Division II. Every game Yeverino has scored in; the Tigers have been victorious, including two game winners.

Colorado College enters Friday night's contest with a 4-1-2 overall record and their own three-game winning streak. During their three-game streak, CC has been impressive defensively, shutting out Carleton College, Wittenberg University and UC Santa Cruz, respectively. The UC Santa Cruz win is most impressive, as UCCS was ranked No. 17 in NCAA Division III.

Junior Daniel Wright is leading the Tigers in goals with three on the season. Matt Fechter is their main setup man, totaling a team-leading four assists.

Friday's contest is the last time to see the Tigers at the FHSU Soccer Stadium in almost a month, as FHSU plays their next four games on the road. The next home game is Oct. 18 against Oklahoma Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
