Playing in their first regular season game, the Tigers won 1-0 in overtime against Adams State College on Saturday (Sept. 3) at the FHSU Soccer Stadium. Ricardo Yeverino scored the first goal in FHSU men's soccer history to give the Tigers the 1-0 victory with 22 seconds left in the 10 minute overtime.
The Tigers dominated statistically, outshooting the Grizzlies 28-7, including holding Adams State to zero shots in the first half. FHSU had nine corner kicks to the Grizzlies' two. Yeverino totaled nine of the Tigers' 28 shots, including the game winner.
Ryan Pakieser started in goal for FHSU, totaling one save in the near 100 minutes of play.
The Tigers play again tomorrow (Sept. 4) against UC-Colorado Springs at the FHSU Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
