After winning its season opener 77-48 over McPherson College on Saturday night, the Fort Hays State men's basketball team returns to the court Tuesday (Nov. 13) in a non-conference game with Bethany College starting at 7:30 pm.
Fort Hays State is looking for its 17th consecutive win over Bethany. The Tigers defeated the Swedes last year in Hays by a score of 85-50. Bethany is off to a 3-0 overall start and all the wins have been away from its home arena. Bethany went 14-16 overall last year and 11-7 in the KCAC.
Bethany is one of three NAIA schools on the schedule for the Tigers this year. FHSU begins play against NCAA Division II teams this weekend hosting Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, a school currently in transition to Division II from the NAIA level.
Ben Congiusta led FHSU in scoring in the season opener with 15 points. He also had a team-high six assists.
Nick Capiti had a good all-around performance with 12 points, six rebounds, five steals, and four assists.
Rundell Mauge had a team-high nine rebounds and four blocked shots.
