Rangers Come to Hays to Face Tigers Saturday

Northwestern Oklahoma State comes to Hays on Saturday (Nov. 17) to face Fort Hays State in another non-conference match-up at Gross Memorial Coliseum. The Tigers enter the game at 2-0 overall, while the Rangers are 0-2 overall. Game time is scheduled for 4 pm.

Fort Hays State is coming off an 84-44 win over Bethany College on Tuesday. The Tigers defeated their first two opponents of the season by an average of 34.5 points. Both opponents were from the NAIA. Northwestern Oklahoma State is currently in the transition process from NAIA to NCAA Division II.

The Rangers enter with a record of 0-2, but played a tight game with Northeastern State of the MIAA earlier this week, falling by just five points. Northwestern Oklahoma State is a member of the newly formed Great American Conference. Fort Hays State leads the all-time series with NWOSU 20-5. FHSU holds a seven-game win streak.

Dwayne Brunson leads the Tigers in scoring at 16.5 points per game. He had a double-double in the win against Bethany with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Ben Congiusta is also averaging double figures at 14 points per game. Rundell Mauge leads in rebounding at 8.5 per game and Nick Capiti leads in assists at 6.5 per game.
