The No. 11 Fort Hays women's basketball team travels to Oklahoma-Panhandle State on Saturday (Dec. 15) for its only true road non-conference action of the season. The 8-0 Tigers put their perfect record on the line against the Aggies. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm in Goodwell, Okla. at Oscar Williams Fieldhouse.

Fort Hays State is off to its best start in school history, recording an 8-0 start this season. The Tigers are 2-0 in the MIAA, including a blowout win, 95-50, over No. 23 Central Missouri. FHSU then picked up a tough 57-42 road MIAA win at Missouri Western. In non-conference play, the Tigers are 6-0 this season. The Tigers vaulted to No. 11 this week in the rankings, their highest-ever in NCAA Division II history.

The two teams play for the first time since December 12, 2008. FHSU came away with a 74-52 win at Gross Memorial Coliseum on that day, and the Tigers lead the all-time series 26-10, including 11 of the last 13. FHSU's last trip to OPSU ended in a 66-60 overtime loss during the 2007-08 season.

Sophomore center Kate Lehman leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 18.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Her 4.58 blocks per game rank her No. 2 in NCAA Division II. She is also sixth in field goal percent at 64.4 percent. Junior Katelyn Edwards is second in both scoring and rebounding, scoring 12.8 points and grabbing 7.4 rebounds. Senior Kaiameka Brown leads the Tigers with 27 assists through the eight games.

Oklahoma-Panhandle State is currently on a six-game losing streak, and the Aggies are 2-6 overall on the season. Whitley Coca leads the team with 16.3 points per game and 4.8 assists per game. Sharice Papaleo averages a team-high 6.8 rebounds and adds 8.9 points, ranking No.2 on the team.
