Box Score 
The Fort Hays State men's soccer team started its 2012 season, the Tigers second in school history, on the right foot, winning 4-1 at Colorado Christian on Friday (Aug. 31). 
Daniel Peralta scored two goals in his first game as a Tiger.
 
All-American 
Diego Cabral scored FHSU's first goal of the season, beating the CCU goalkeeper one-on-one in the 25th minute and giving the Tigers an early 1-0.
 
The Cougars scored the equalizer nine minutes later in the 34th minute as Calvin Beck scored for CCU.
 
The 1-1 tie did not last as 
Daniel Peralta scored his first of two goals in the 42nd minute on a penalty kick. The Tigers led, 2-1, at the end of the first half.
 
Fort Hays added two more goals in the second half. Peralta knocked in a low cross in the box from 
Michael Cole to increase the margin to 3-1 in the 80th minute.
 
Jaccob Rangel closed out the scoring five minutes later in the 85th minute on a pass from 
Tanner Brock for the final 4-1 score.
 
The Cougars outshot the Tigers, 12-10, including a 7-6 advantage in shots on goal.
 
Ryan Pakieser played the 90 minutes in goal for the Tigers, allowing the one goal while making six saves.
 
FHSU continues its Colorado road trip tomorrow (Sept. 1) against South Dakota School of Mines in Lakewood, Colo. The start time is set for 4 p.m.
