The 21st-ranked Fort Hays State women's basketball team plays at 24th-ranked Pittsburg State on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 19) in Pittsburg, Kan. Tipoff is set for 1:30 pm at John Lance Arena. Fort Hays State enters at 11-3 overall and 3-3 in the MIAA, while Pittsburg State is 11-4 overall and 5-2 in the MIAA.

Fort Hays State snapped a three-game losing skid on Wednesday in a 64-55 win over Southwest Baptist in Hays. This will be the third time Fort Hays State matches up with a Top 25 team this year, while also being ranked in the Top 25. The Lady Tigers won a battle of ranked teams against Central Missouri earlier this season in Hays, but fell against Washburn in Hays last week. All three of Fort Hays State's losses this year have been to teams that have been in the Top 25 at some point this year.

Fort Hays State won the last meeting with Pittsburg State last year in Hays by a score of 72-61 when the Gorillas were ranked No. 11 in the nation. Prior to that, the Gorillas had won five in a row.

Kate Lehman leads FHSU in scoring and rebounding at 16.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. She also leads NCAA Division II in blocked shots at 4.4 per game. Also averaging double figures in scoring is Katelyn Edwards, chipping in 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

Pittsburg State has the top scorer in the conference in Lizzy Jeronimus, who averages 19.5 points per game. No other players on the team are averaging double figures, Morgan Westhoff is closest at 9.1 per game.
