The Tigers defeated William Jewell for Homecoming last week in Hays by a score of 34-17. Similar to last year, the Tigers started 0-4 before getting their first win of the season. In both years, the Tigers opened with four straight opponents that are in the Top 25 over the AFCA Division II National Poll.
The Tigers look to continue their winning ways against a Lindenwood squad that took a 56-6 loss at Nebraska-Kearney last week. Lindenwood uncharacteristically turned the ball over seven times in the game, which compounded the problem against a winless Nebraska-Kearney squad. Five of those turnovers turned into touchdowns for UNK. Lindenwood is 2-0 so far this year at home with wins over Lincoln and Missouri S&T.
Fort Hays State lost to Lindenwood last year in the first-ever meeting between the schools by a score of 20-17 in Hays. Fort Hays State was in prime position to win that game, but threw an interception late in the fourth quarter inside the Lindenwood 5-yardline.
