Fort Hays State looks to extend its win streak to six games on Saturday when it plays at Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. Kickoff is set for 1:30 pm. The Tigers enter the game at 5-4 overall, 3-4 MIAA, while Central Missouri is 5-4 overall, 4-4 MIAA.
A win would give Fort Hays State its longest win streak since the 1995 season, when it reeled off seven in a row in a season that it finished 8-2-2 overall and made the NCAA playoffs. That's the last time FHSU appeared in the postseason for football.
The Tigers are also looking to snap a seven-game losing streak to Central Missouri, which began when FHSU became a member of the MIAA in 2006. Two of the last three games have been decided by three points or less, which includes a 14-12 loss to Central Missouri last year in Hays.
The FHSU offense has been lighting up the scoreboard of late with 164 points in the last three games. FHSU set a school record for points in a game against a collegiate team last week with 63 against South Dakota Mines.
This is the final road game of the season. After Saturday, FHSU returns home for the season finale against Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday, Nov. 16.
