Tigers Get Back on Track with 45-Point Win over Central Christian

Fort Hays State moved to 8-2 overall on the season with a 95-50 win over Central Christian on Saturday (Dec. 14) at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. The Tigers shot 59.7 percent from the field, while limiting Central Christian to just 26.2 percent.

FHSU opened the game on a 14-2 run and held an 28-point halftime lead of 49-21. The Tigers went on a 22-0 run in the second half between the 17:34 and 11:25 marks on the clock to lead by 49. The largest lead of the game was 52 points at 88-36 with 5:13 to go.

Carson Konrade led the Tigers with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field. He was 5-of-7 beyond the 3-point line. Dwayne Brunson added 14 and a team-high eight rebounds. James Fleming had 12 points and Marty Wendel added a career-high 10. Craig Nicholson and Achoki Moikobu tied with a team-high seven assists each.

Kris Quant was the only Central Christian player to reach double figures in scoring with 12 points.

The Tigers now gear up for a big conference game with Northwest Missouri State next Saturday (Dec. 21) in Hays. It's the first conference home game for the Tigers this year. They are 0-2 in conference play so far after a pair of overtime losses at Central Missouri and Missouri Western.
