The Fort Hays State women's basketball team hosts Northwest Missouri State in its first home MIAA contest of the season on Saturday (Dec. 21). Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
FHSU is off to a strong start in the 2013-14 season, undefeated at home and dropping its lone road contest to ranked opponent Central Missouri (currently No. 8 in WBCA). Â The Tigers are receiving 35 votes in the lastest version of that poll.
This will be the 19th meeting all-time between Northwest Missouri State and the Tigers, as the two squads have split the history, 9-9. Â Recent history, however, gives FHSU an edge, as the Tigers have won seven of the last 10 (all under head coach
Tony Hobson), and haven't lost at home since the 2006-07 season.
After Saturday's game, the Tigers will take a break from competition until Jan. 4, where the Tigers will take on Missouri Southern as part of a two-game road swing. Â The second game of the trip will be Jan. 6 against Southwest Baptist.
