The Fort Hays State women's basketball team hosts Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday (Feb. 9) at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. The Lady Tigers are looking for their fourth consecutive win, attempting to close out a four-game homestand perfect. FHSU enters at 15-5 overall, 7-5 in the MIAA, while Nebraska-Kearney is 6-13 overall, 3-9 in the MIAA.

Fort Hays State holds a three-game win streak against Nebraska-Kearney, winning the only meeting between the teams in each of the last three years. This will be the first conference meeting between the schools since 2005-06 when both were members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Nebraska-Kearney made the move to the MIAA this year, leaving the RMAC, and gets to renew the long-time conference rivalry with FHSU.

Fort Hays State is in sixth place in the MIAA standings and looks to keep pressure on the top five teams in the conference standings. The Lady Tigers look to continue their good play at home, where they are 10-1 so far this year.

Nebraska-Kearney won its last contest on February 1 over Central Oklahoma in Kearney. Prior to the win UNK lost eight of nine contests.

Kate Lehman continues to lead FHSU in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. She is averaging 15.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 4.0 blocked shots per game. She leads NCAA Division II in blocked shots per game. Katelyn Edwards, coming off her sixth double-double of the season, ranks second in points per game (13.4) and rebounds per game (8.2).
