Fort Hays State, fresh off its win over South Dakota Mines in non-conference play on Thursday night, heads to Pittsburg State on Saturday (Jan. 25) to resume MIAA play. Fort Hays State enters the game at 15-3 overall, 6-3 MIAA, while Pittsburg State enters at 6-9 overall, 2-6 in the MIAA.
Pittsburg State won the only meeting between the schools last year in Pittsburg by a score of 72-69. That snapped an eight-game win streak for Fort Hays State in the series. This is the 150th meeting all-time between the schools in men's basketball with FHSU holding an 80-69 advantage.
Fort Hays State enters the contest on a seven-game win streak, the first six of the streak in MIAA play to vault all the way back to fourth place in the standings.
Dwayne Brunson leads the Tigers at 17.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Craig Nicholson is the second-best assister in the nation at 8.3 per game, and he averages 17.1 points per game.
Carson Konrade also averages double figures in scoring at 14.0 points per game.
Following the trip to Pittsburg, FHSU returns home for a games against in-state rivals Emporia State and Washburn on Thursday and Saturday next week.
