Men's Soccer

Men's Soccer travels to West Texas A&M, hosts Harding

The 25th-ranked Fort Hays State Men's Soccer team travels to Canyon, Texas this Thursday (Oct. 2) for a road matchup with West Texas A&M, before returning to FHSU Soccer Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 4) to take on Harding.  Game time for Thursday is 3 p.m., with Saturday's game set for 1 p.m.
 
FHSU (4-3-1, 2-2-0 MIAA) has won two straight, outscoring opponents 13-0 in those games.  The Tigers defeated rival Lindenwood 8-0 on Thursday before closing out the weekend with a 5-0 win against Southwest Baptist.
 
Reigning MIAA Athlete of the Week Michael Cole leads the Tigers with 10 points (four goals, two assists) for the season, scoring three goals with one assist total during the previous two matches.  Diego Cabral and Austin Clifton each have eight points for FHSU, adding three goals and two assists apiece.  The Tigers' assists leader, Anthony Hernandez, has four assists with one goal scored (six points).
 
Defensively, Eric Hymer and Drew Wilson have logged just under 700 minutes (699 and 690, respectively) in the back row, anchoring the Tigers' defense in allowing just eight goals by opponents this season. 
 
Between the pipes, Kent Freund has played a majority of the minutes, compiling a 4-2-1 record with six goals allowed (0.91 goals against average) in seven appearances (six starts).  Freund has 30 saves and boasts a .833 saves percentage.
 
West Texas A&M (6-2-0) is led offensively by Victor Cardoso's 11 points (four goals, three assists), while Christopher Hutton has added two goals and three assists (seven points) for the year.  In goal, Patrick Satorie's 14 saves leads the team, while allowing six goals (1.13 GAA) in six starts (478:30 of playing time).
 
Harding (2-3-1) has scored 12 goals this season, with three each coming from Jacob Stevens and Cole Walker. Both Stevens and Walker have added one assist and are tied for the team lead with seven points.  Thomas Shults has played 495 minutes in the net for Harding, allowing 13 goals (2.35 per game) and collecting 20 saves.
