Fort Hays State Women's Basketball closes out the first month of the season with Tabor College at home on Saturday, Nov. 29. Game time from Gross Memorial Coliseum begins at 2 p.m.
FHSU has won three straight, opening the season at 4-1 in non-conference play.
Kate Lehman and
Jill Faxon have hit double-digits in four of five games this season and lead the team in points per game. Lehman's 22.0 points per game ranks first in the MIAA so far as the senior center has pulled down 11.2 rebounds per game with 19 blocks on the year. Last time out at Newman, Lehman had six blocks to move into sixth all-time in career blocks for NCAA Division II. Faxon (13.8 points per game) and
Chelsea Mason (10.6 points per game) join Lehman with double-digit scoring averages.
As a team, the Tigers have outscored opponents by an average of 30.8 points this year and have seen 19 double-digit scoring performances on the year thus far, and received votes in the first regular season version of the WBCA Top 25 poll.
Tabor (4-6) knocked off John Brown University (Ark.), 63-44, last time out and have won three of its last four. TC is led offensively by Kayla Wilgers' 12 points per game while Tonisha Dean is averaging 11 points. Dean's 4.9 rebounds per game leads the team, while Tena Loewen has 4.7 rebounds and 5.3 points per game. The Blue Jays are shooting 38.1 percent from the field with an average of 63.9 points per game.
FHSU begins MIAA play next week with No. 24 Central Missouri coming to town on Thursday, Dec. 4.
