Fort Hays State closes a four-game homestand this Tuesday (Dec. 16), hosting Kansas Wesleyan in its final home game of 2014. The Tigers and Coyotes will tip off at 5:30 p.m. from Gross Memorial Coliseum as FHSU looks to push its winning streak to eight games.
FHSU (8-1) is coming off a 94-44 victory over Missouri Valley College on Sunday, during which
Kate Lehman (28 points, 11 rebounds) and
Elle Stein (11 points, 10 rebounds) posted double-doubles in the front court. Lehman leads the MIAA with 21.6 points per game and has 39 blocks on the year, including seven against MVC last weekend. Other top scorers for the Tigers include
Chelsea Mason (12.6 points per game), who has 24 made three-pointers this season, and
Jill Faxon (11.3 points per game).
Beth Bohuslavsky, dishing out 4.6 assists on average, is just below the double-digit scoring level with 9.7 points per game.
KWU (8-3) has won three straight (and six of its last seven), led offensively by Jenna Farris' 13.7 points per game. Vanessa Kresin is averaging 12.1 points and a team-leading 5.5 rebounds per game for the Coyotes, while Karlie Steinle joins the two in double-digits with 10.1 points per game. Steinle's 2.5 assists' average is also a team-high.
The Tigers return to conference play later this week, traveling to Northwest Missouri State on Saturday (Dec. 20) for the final game of 2014.
