The Tiger women's basketball team comes home to Gross Memorial Coliseum on Saturday (Feb. 22) to take on Nebraska-Kearney in its annual Pink Game. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m., with FHSU wearing pink uniforms in recognition of Breast Cancer awareness.
FHSU (16-7, 9-7 MIAA) will look to get back on track and snap a three-game losing streak that has moved the Tigers outside of the Top 5 in the MIAA Standings. While the Tigers have clinched a spot in the MIAA Postseason, the team is still fighting four seeding position, with the top four seeds earning an automatic bye to Kansas City, Mo. Currently the sixth seed, FHSU would host a first-round game on March 3 if the season ended today. FHSU was also ranked 10th in the first version of the NCAA Central Region Rankings, released Feb. 19. The top eight seeds in the region earn an NCAA postseason berth.
UNK (8-15, 4-12 MIAA) is tied for 12th in the conference standings and fighting for a spot in the MIAA tournament. The Lopers are led by Amarah Williams' 13.3 points per game and Shelby Zimmerman's 13.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
