Fort Hays State women's basketball, seeded fifth in the MIAA Championships, will host Nebraska-Kearney at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 3 in the opening round of the MIAA Tournament.
The Tigers (19-7, 12-7 MIAA) are 2-0 against UNK so far this season, outscoring the Lopers 166-120 in those matchups. Â FHSU defeated UNK in Kearney, Neb., 85-67, on Feb. 5 and again in Hays, Kan., 81-53, on Feb. 22. Â Overall, FHSU holds a 46-35 advantage in the series history and has won the last seven matchups. Â

Tony Hobson picked up his 100th win at Fort Hays State in the Tigers' 55-39 victory over Northeastern State, using
Kate Lehman's second career triple-double (10 points, 17 rebounds, 10 blocks) as a catalyst. Â Lehman leads the team with a double-double season average of 16.8 points per game and 11.4 rebounds per game, going with an NCAA-leading average of 5.4 blocks per game.
The winner of Monday's game will go on to Kansas City, Mo., for the remainder of the MIAA Championships, beginning with a Thursday matchup against fourth-seeded Missouri Southern.
Tickets for Monday's contest will be available to the general public at the gates at 5:30 p.m., an hour and a half prior to game time.
