Fort Hays State women's basketball, seeded fifth in the MIAA Championships, will play fourth-seeded Missouri Southern in the quarterfinals on the MIAA Tournament on Thursday, March 6 in Kansas City, Mo.  Action is set for 2:15 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium, the site of the MIAA Men's and Women's Basketball Championships.

The Tigers (20-7, 12-7 MIAA) defeated Nebraska-Kearney, 88-68, in the opening round of the conference tournament, advancing to Kansas City, Mo., to face the Lions, who earned a bye with a top four seed.  FHSU will look to avenge an early season loss to MSSU, a 76-71 defeat in Joplin, Mo., on Jan. 4.

Last time out, against UNK, Kate Lehman posted her eight consecutive double-double (and 19th of the season) with points (12) and rebounds (11) to go with six blocks.  Lehman leads the team with 16.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game while leading the NCAA with 5.4 blocks per game.  Chelsea Mason (18 points), Beth Bohuslavsky (14 points) and Katelyn Edwards (11 points) also scored in double-digits against the Lopers.

The winner of Thursday's game will go advance to the semifinals on Saturday with a matchup against the winner of top-seeded Central Missouri and ninth-seeded Northeastern State.

For Tiger fans coming to the game in Kansas City, the FHSU Alumni Association will be hosting a postgame party at Johnny's Tavern, located at 1310 Grand (corner of 13th and Grand) in Downtown Kansas City. There will be after parties held at this location following both the women's and men's games on Thursday and Friday at 5-7 pm.
